A Typical Day
As we are based just behind Nelson School at the Old Latymerians, we access our premesis by walking through Nelsons Sports field which backs onto ours. This makes escorting your kids back from their respective school quick and safe.
At Nelson School, we pick up all reception and new children first from their classrooms. We then wait in the lobby near the school office where our infant members are dropped by their teacher to us. once all are ticked off our register we take them over to the 'amphitheatre' next to the juniors. Here we wait until everyone has arrived and been registered.
From here it is a matter of a two minute walk through the field to Nesta.
For St Edmunds we pick up our reception, year 1, year 2, year 3 and new children from their teachers in the playground. We then wait by the big wall until the older ones have arrived and been registered. We wait until the playground is less busy and then cross the road with the help of Brian the crossing man and go into Nelson School and on to Nesta.
We also offer a late pick-up service to both schools should your kids take part in after school activities (football, choir, languages etc). These typically finish at 4.15.
Once back at Nesta all children are given a buffet snack after which they are free to take part or organise any activity they wish either indoors or out. We have a cooked two course meal at 4.30 which has an ever changing, healthy and varied menu (see prospectus for example).
We then have a quiet time while the children are sitting where they can give opinions, air grievances, suggest activities or we can give them any news. After this, the noise begins again and off they go to their various activities!
Parents are free to pick up at any time before 6pm, but we ask you to try and avoid the times between 4.30 and 5pm as we are trying to prepare and serve dinner for 30+ kids and wont have the chance to chat. We also suggest yopu send your kids in with a change of clothes (or just trousers/shorts) as they dont understand the concept of keeping uniform clean!
